A scholar, professor and leader of the Adelphi academic community for the past 18 years, he brings a deep connection and commitment to the role, along with established expertise in higher education administration.<\/p>\n

Dr. Storm has championed key strategic initiatives at Adelphi that have elevated its academic programs and enriched the student academic experience. He oversaw the creation of the Scholars Pursuing Arts, Research and Knowledge Center<\/a> (known as the SPARK Center), which focuses on embedding research into the academic experience for all undergraduates at Adelphi. He relaunched the University\u2019s Innovation Center<\/a> with new, energetic leadership and a goal of making the center a vibrant hub of education and collaboration. He has also led the University through several challenges, including ensuring seamless, high-quality academic offerings before, during and after the COVID-19 pandemic; leading the negotiations and ratification of the most recent faculty collective bargaining agreement; and expanding the prioritization of research, scholarship and creative works within the Office of the Provost<\/a>. In implementing these initiatives, Dr. Storm has fostered strong faculty engagement and collaboration.<\/p>\n

Dr. Storm joined Adelphi in 2007 as an assistant professor of mathematics. He became an associate professor and served as department chair before moving to academic administration in 2016 as associate provost. He rose to the position of senior associate provost for faculty advancement and research before being appointed provost and executive vice president of Adelphi in 2021.<\/p>\n

After earning his bachelor\u2019s and master\u2019s degrees in mathematics at Dartmouth College, Dr. Storm also completed his PhD in mathematics at Dartmouth. In his role as a faculty member at Adelphi, he published numerous articles in professional journals and contributed to books on teaching and learning in higher education. His many honors include receiving the Mathematical Association of America\u2019s 2013 Henry L. Alder Award for Distinguished Teaching by a Beginning College or University Mathematics Faculty Member. He also earned an Adelphi Faculty Excellence Award in Teaching in 2012.<\/p>\n

Dr. Storm lives in Garden City, New York, with his wife, their two children, and their dog, Shadow.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
