Dear Adelphi Community,

As federal and state authorities continue to monitor the outbreak of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), we at Adelphi continue to take steps to protect our community members and their families by reducing in-person activities and group gatherings. Because it has become clear that this situation is going to take widespread and sustained efforts over an unknown period of time, we have made the decision听toextend the online learning that will begin on March 23 through the remainder of the spring semester.听听

Classes will not meet in person the duration of the term and听. With the exception of resident or international students who are听unable to return home听due to travel restrictions or other extreme circumstances, all students should plan to leave campus with their belongings as soon as possible. Requests to stay on campus will be considered on a听听as we strive to reduce the number of people on campus per government and public health guidance.

Please watch your email later this week for comprehensive information about our transition to online learning, resources to support your experience, ordering books, accessing library services online, student support services, and more.听

Whether you are away from campus for Spring Break or preparing to leave due to the听shift to remote learning for the rest of the semester, we encourage you to observe and follow the advice of the Centers for Disease Prevention and Control (CDC) and the New York State Department of Health, including 鈥渟ocial distancing鈥 such as avoiding gatherings of more than 10 people, maintaining a distance of 6 feet from others when possible, washing your hands often鈥攁nd using hand sanitizer when you can鈥檛, avoid touching your face, cancel non-essential travel, and most of all鈥攕tay home if you feel sick.
