The top-rated Adelphi is off to a blazing 3-0 start this season. Helping to lead the charge is team captain, , a junior who is from Garden City, New York. She has accumulated 16 goals and three assists in the first three victories. An article in revealed some of the keys to her success.
First, the support of her parents and family, who go out of their way to watch her play.
鈥淭hey always have one person at the game, so whether it鈥檚 my mom or dad or grandmother or my brother or cousins, they are always standing above the 50-yard line,鈥 Jahelka told Lacrosse Magazine. 鈥淏efore the first whistle blows, I make sure to look up there and give them a wave.鈥
Coach Pat McCabe also praised Jahelka鈥檚 work ethic.
