This is especially true with everything going on in the world right now. Whether you’re stressed by midterms, experiencing a personal crisis or just need someone to talk to, Adelphi has support and services in place to help. Please take time for self-care and seek out the wide variety of resources Adelphi has developed for you.

Student Counseling Center

°Õ³ó±ðÌýStudent Counseling CenterÌýoffers individual and group counseling services to students who may be experiencing psychological, behavioral or learning difficulties. Staffed by a psychiatrist, licensed clinical psychologists, social workers, graduate-level social work interns and doctoral-level clinical psychology interns, the center provides services and support to help you define and work toward your personal, academic and professional goals.

Available services include individual andÌýgroup counseling, crisis intervention, workshops,Ìýoutreach and consultation,Ìýsupport for students of color, andÌýdrug and alcohol education and counseling, in addition to referrals to both on-campus and off-campus resources. Coping With COVID-19 Support Group

Tuesdays at 6:00 p.m.

Led by a Student Counseling Center counselor, this is a supportive discussion group for current students who are experiencing personal and academic difficulties related to COVID-19. Discussion will focus on developing positive coping strategies, problem-solving techniques and resilience. Registration is not required;Ìý.

Racism, Injustice and Change Support Group

Wednesdays at 1:00 p.m. (October 28, November 4, November 11)Ìý

This support group, open to all students, provides a space to discuss how the current racial and sociopolitical climate has impacted participants’ mental health. Facilitated by Student Counseling Center counselors, discussion will include coping in a healthy manner while exploring ways to effect change.   • Panther Pantry—Adelphi’s Panther Pantry is available to confidentially help members of our community by providing basic food, personal care, clothing and household items, free of charge.ÌýStudents can stop by the pantry on the lower level of Residence Hall A on the Garden City campus, or order online for confidential pickup.
  • Center for Career and Professional Development—Career counselorsÌýare available to assist and advise students as they build their résumés and search for on-campus and off-campus part-time employment, seasonal employment, and volunteer opportunities.ÌýThe center also offers regularÌýworkshopsÌýon topics like résumé writing and interview skills, as well asÌýrecruitment programs, job fairs and the online serviceÌýÌýto connect students with employers.
