Sarah Cifarelli Wellen, B.A. 鈥51, M.A. 鈥74, is currently teaching a course in conversational Italian at the American Italian Heritage Museum in Albany. One of her poems was recently published in Oasis Journal.

James L. Donahue, B.A. 鈥51, and his wife, Cynthia Howells Donahue, B.S. 鈥53, are retired.

Pamela Livingston, B.A. 鈥51, is included in the 2012鈥2013 Marquis Who鈥檚 Who of American Women for her longtime demonstrated professional success as a communications and marketing consultant, developing corporate identity and image programs for executives.

Robert Dunhill, B.A. 鈥52, became a vendor to the General Services Administration regarding direct mail, mailing lists, etc. He also teaches blackjack to casino goers.

Lois Schnakenberg, B.A. 鈥56, M.A. 鈥68, has been accepted as an active exhibiting member of the Woodstock Art Association Museum.

Mary Finnin, B.S. 鈥58, is vice president of the Foundation of New York State Nurses. Betty (Kipniss) MacDonald, B.A. 鈥58, is a printmaker and artist and reviews exhibits for the Journal of the Print World.


1960s

Jack Dowd, B.A. 鈥60, opened Jack Dowd鈥檚 27 at the Vermont Institute of Contemporary Arts. The show ran from June 23 through August 19.

Emily Horcher, B.A. 鈥62, attended her 50th Adelphi reunion and enjoyed it very much. Claire Machosky, B.B.A. 鈥62, and Roland Gomez, B.A. 鈥51, met at an Adelphi reunion held at the Reagan Building in Washington, D.C., in Spring 2010. Little did they realize that fate would bring them together in the coming months as Ms. Machosky鈥檚 grandson, Joseph Machosky, was auditioning for a part in an upcoming production of Oliver. Mr. Gomez, who is affiliated with the Little Theatre of Alexandria, was doing the casting and directing for the upcoming production of Oliver. He was enthralled with Joseph and his theatrical ability. A new friendship was forged between Adelphi alumni, the show was a huge success and Roland Gomez touts Joseph Machosky as his latest rising star.

Alan Anderson, M.S. 鈥63, was inducted into the International Game Fish Association.

Frank Young, M.S. 鈥66, along with his wife, enjoyed a river/canal cruise in the Netherlands and Belgium in April.

Paul Quentzel, B.A. 鈥67, accepted the position of the chief of gastroenterology at Ireland Army Hospital, Fort Knox, Kentucky, in January 2012.

Morris Fidanque, M.A. 鈥68, presented 鈥淎n Afternoon of Original Prose Readings鈥 at the Howland Public Library in Beacon, New York.

Michael Vinciguerra, M.S. 鈥69, Ph.D. 鈥71, has announced his plan to retire on May 31, 2013, as president at the University of St. Francis in Joliet, Illinois, after 10 years of service.


1970s

Richard Funke, B.B.A. 鈥71, announced his retirement from WHEC-TV.

Bob Beamon, B.A. 鈥72, is an established artist who is chief executive officer of the Art of the Olympians Museum in Fort Myers, Florida.

Arline Cord Frankel, B.S. 鈥72, is a retired elementary school teacher.

Patricia Gloeckner, B.S. 鈥73, is the Department of Nursing faculty representative to the Adjunct Faculty Association at Nassau Community College.

Donald Newman, B.S. 鈥73, was appointed to the board of Nature鈥檚 Bioceuticals, a wholly owned subsidiary of Mistral Ventures Inc.

Dwayne Weissman, B.B.A. 鈥73, is married to Debra DiCroce Weissman, B.A. 鈥74, M.S. 鈥77, and has two beautiful daughters.

Edward Ehmann, M.A. 鈥75, is retiring from the Smithtown Central School District.

Richard O鈥橬eill, B.A. 鈥75, a clinical psychologist who is also a radio talk show regular, actor and voice-over artist, was profiled in the Syracuse New Times.

Elizabeth Bouraad, B.A. 鈥76, has been a monitor at the Art Students League of New York for 10 years.

Ernest Cipullo, B.A. 鈥76, retired as police commissioner after 51 years of service with the Garden City Police Department.

Gail Dolan, B.S. 鈥76, has been named Florida regional dean of the School of Nursing by Rasmussen College.

James Hegmann, M.A. 鈥77, is the president of Hegmann Distributors, Inc., and had been running a successful business for the past 30 years. He is a permanently certified educator.

Karen Doblin, B.S. 鈥78, works in the Department of Pain Management and Palliative Care鈥檚 Outpatient Pain Service at Phillips Ambulatory Care Center. She was awarded the 2012 New York/New Jersey Nurse.com Nursing Excellence Award and was chosen in the Home, Community and Ambulatory Care category.

Ralph Mora, M.A. 鈥78, Ph.D. 鈥83, presented a five-hour workshop entitled 鈥淭he Treatment of Childhood PTSD related to Natural Disasters鈥 at the 18th Annual Conference of the International Association for Dynamic Psychotherapy, held in Sendai, Japan. The conference was intended to support East Japan in its rehabilitation and recovery from the devastating 2011 earthquake and tsunami.

James Parla, M.A. 鈥78, was named superintendent of the Wappingers Central School District.

Kevin Dillon, B.S. 鈥79, was appointed executive director of Connecticut Airport Authority.


1980s

Joy Borrero, B.S. 鈥80, is pursuing a Ph.D. in Nursing at CUNY and wrote a letter to the editor in Newsday in support of requiring bachelor鈥檚 degrees for nurses.

Anna Lee, Ph.D. 鈥80, is working at Kaiser and practicing as a psychoanalyst.

Robert Schimenti, B.B.A. 鈥80, has just joined zConnect, a managed services company located in Atlanta, Georgia, and owned by Bud Ducey, B.S. 鈥85.

Richard Scheinberg, M.S.W. 鈥81, opened the Sunrise Counseling Center in East Islip, New York, in 1993. His agency was selected as the 2012 Agency of the Year by the National Association of Social Workers, New York State Chapter in a special ceremony held in March in Albany.

John Weisenseel, B.B.A. 鈥82, was appointed as chief financial officer by AllianceBernstein L.P. He leads all global finance and reporting functions for the firm. AllianceBernstein is a leading global investment management firm that offers research and diversified investment services to institutional investors, individuals and private clients in major world markets.

Vivien Gurfein, B.A. 鈥83, was born and raised in rural England, and trained as a nurse during World War II, treating wounded troops and civilian casualties. Married, and with only her child, she arrived in the United States, where she entered the competitive arena of modeling in New York City, before resuming her nursing career. Her 2012 book, 鈥淟imey鈥 and听Proud of It, is听based on the story of her life.

Veneta Burrell, B.S. 鈥84, M.S.W. 鈥86, currently resides in Florida and is the owner of Spaulding鈥檚 Intake and Referral Agency Inc., a nonprofit organization with a specialty in substance abuse treatment along with mental health services. She is married with two children and has eight grandchildren.

Sharon LaCruise, B.A. 鈥84, is the producer and director of the documentary film Independent Lens: Daisy Bates: First Lady of Little Rock. Catch clips at .

Nancy E. Strauss, B.S. 鈥84, serves as vice chair, clinical professor, director of residency training and attending physician at New York Presbyterian Hospital-Columbia University Medical Center. She is also a professor of clinical rehabilitation medicine at Weill Cornell Medical School.

Mindy (Young) Cohen, B.S. 鈥85, provides psychotherapy services for adults and geriatric individuals, groups, couples and families in private practice. She also designs and leads therapy support groups for medical oncology and rheumatology patients as well as for caregivers.

Bernard (Bud) Ducey, B.S. 鈥85, is owner of zConnect, a managed services company located in Atlanta, Georgia.

Adam Levin, B.A. 鈥85, oversees nationwide complaints, consumer mediation and community outreach for New York State Attorney General Eric Schneiderman鈥檚 Nassau Regional Office. Also a songwriter and performing musician, he contributed four works to the recently released album, Paint the Peel. His song, 鈥淲ords on the Wall,鈥 was recorded with musicians in three countries. Charles Rice-Gonz谩lez, B.A. 鈥85, is a writer, longtime community and LGBT activist and executive director of BAAD! the Bronx Academy of Arts and Dance. His debut novel, Chulito, was released in October 2011, and he co-edited, with Charlie V谩zquez, From Macho to Mariposa: New Gay Latino Fiction, released in August 2011. Michael Taunton, M.B.A. 鈥85, has been named vice president of finance at Arrow Electronics.

Osbert Hood, B.S. 鈥86, a member of the 天美传媒 Board of Trustees, was appointed chief operating officer at Advent Capital Management, LLC.

Catherine Hottendorf, M.B.A. 鈥86, was named executive director of Franklin Hospital.

Eileen C. McDonnell, M.B.A. 鈥88, is president and CEO of Penn Mutual and recently received the President鈥檚 Award from The American College Foundation in honor of her long-term generosity and service to the college and its advancement efforts.

Rosemarie Tully, B.A. 鈥88, has been appointed the new chair of the Entertainment, Arts and Sports Law Section of the New York State Bar Association.

Henry Herms, B.B.A. 鈥89, is chief financial officer of Almanac Realty Investors, a leading provider of growth capital to public and private real estate companies.

Laura LaForgia, B.B.A. 鈥89, was named a partner at the New York accounting firm Marks Paneth & Shron.


1990s

Mary Anne Dumas, Ph.D. 鈥90, was inducted as a fellow of the American Academy of Nursing in October 2012.

Denise Linkh, M.S.W. 鈥90, joined Family Life Consultants in Collinsville, Illinois, as a therapist. She has more than 20 years of experience working as a psychotherapist and specializes in treating depression and anxiety and working with survivors of sexual abuse and assault. She also oversaw behavioral health services as a U.S. Air Force officer.

Maria Scarangella, M.B.A. 鈥90, was named assistant vice president and now oversees underwriting operations in GEICO鈥檚 Tucson office, which has primary responsibility for the states of Arizona, Utah, Nevada, Oregon, Idaho, Montana and Washington.

Kimberly (Castellotti) Ward, B.A. 鈥92, currently resides in Palm Beach, Florida, with her husband and two boys. She and her husband have been top-producing real estate brokers for the past 13 years. Recently, Ms. Ward was featured in Fabulous Forties magazine for a hobby and bucket list item of hers鈥攂ecoming a cheerleader at age 40!

Anthony Jaeger, B.A. 鈥93, currently works at ESPN as a senior assignment editor.

Joseph Triscoli, M.B.A. 鈥93, was appointed senior vice president of Asset-Based Lending at Valley National Bank.

Monet Dunham, M.S. 鈥94, has been recognized by Cambridge Who鈥檚 Who for Excellence in the Arts.

Staci Paletta, B.S. 鈥96, has been named the newest orthodontic associate at Southeast Orthodontics, a respected provider of orthodontic care to adults, adolescents and children with two offices in Raynham and Brockton, Massachusetts.

Hadyn Sloane-Seale, B.A. 鈥97, is the new head coach of the women鈥檚 soccer team at the University of Manitoba.

Darlene (Hart) Barry, B.S. 鈥98, M.S.W. 鈥00, has been an external clinician at the New York City Fire Department for the survivors of 9/11. Her specialty is PTSD and all anxiety disorders. Her first practice began in Long Beach, New York, and she started a second practice in Manhattan a year and a half ago. She volunteers with the homeless, advocating for housing and meals.


2000s

Kaolin Bass, B.F.A. 鈥02, was in the world premiere of the Tennessee Williams play, In Masks Outrageous and Austere. She is acting with Broadway luminary Shirley Knight. The play opened at the Bleecker Street Theatre on April 16 and ran through May 26.

Jennifer Pristera, B.S. 鈥02, joined Garden City Group Inc.鈥檚 team as vice president, human resources.

Kristen Beckmann, B.F.A. 鈥03, received an M.F.A. in acting from the University of Montana on May 12, 2012. She married Graham Colin Moriarty on June 2, 2012. Ms. Beckmann is doing the educational tour with Montana Repertory Theatre in the fall touring around Montana schools performing in a brand new play, An Unladylike Battle for Survival in the Sunnyside Library, written by Jay Kettering, and teaching acting workshops to the students as well.

Jeannette Casto, M.A. 鈥03, was honored with the Educator of Excellence Award from the New York State English Council.

Laurie Lawrence, B.A. 鈥03, gave birth on December 14, 2011 to daughter, Addison Skylar Lawrence, who was 20 inches long and weighed 7 lbs., 15 oz.

Tim O鈥橠onnell, B.F.A. 鈥03, is the general manager at the Lark Play Development Center in New York City. He has directed a production of Cloud 9 at the Stella Adler School of Acting in New York and the New York premiere of The Giant鈥檚 Garden, a new musical from Toronto, which was part of The Puzzle: Marble鈥檚 Festival of New Works.

Sylvia Hooper, B.A. 鈥04, started a not-forprofit organization in 2008 called Foster Parent Advocacy Foundation Inc., which provides advocacy, support, education and empowerment to help improve the quality of life for foster parents and children in foster care. Abhijeet Muzumdar, M.B.A. 鈥04, has been promoted to VP of Bessemer Venture Partners. He works with Bessemer India in the Mumbai office. He focuses on Internet and technology start-ups and financial services companies and has been closely involved with a number of investments including , , Home First Finance Company and Dhanlaxmi Bank.

Vincent Ricciardi, B.F.A. 鈥05, a tenor, has performed throughout the tri-state area, specializing in Italian Opera, Neapolitan song and Operetta. Some concert highlights include Bella Napoli: A Celebration of Neapolitan Song and Dance in New Jersey and Vincent Ricciardi Sings Mario Lanza and Caruso Too! at The Triad in New York. He is also a featured soloist at St. Monica鈥檚 Church in Manhattan. Recently, he has performed in productions around New York with Regina Opera, Opera of the Hamptons and Bleecker Street Opera. He was the featured Italian singer at the Southington, Connecticut, Italian Festival on July 28. He performed at New York鈥檚 86th Annual Feast of San Gennaro in September.

Katelyn Stoehr, B.A. 鈥05, M.S. 鈥07, is a licensed audiologist and registered hearing aid dispenser in New York State. She provides hearing services at Precision Eye Care, which offers full-service audiology services to Long Island residents.

Nicole Richichi, M.A. 鈥06, M.S.W. 鈥09, is now the chair of the Sexual Assault Awareness Month Committee at the Northport VA Medical Center.

Erin Callahan, B.F.A. 鈥07, has worked for four seasons at East Lynne Theater Company (one of two equity houses in Cape May County) and has worked closely with an independent film company since 2009. She has been the lead in many feature films, Web series and pilots. She runs her own online store that is funding her theatrical pursuits. She recently filmed her second commercial for North End Wine and Liquor that was due to air in the Bronx. Ms. Callahan will be featured in Glamour magazine for a body awareness issue and is beginning a transition into modeling. She thanks 鈥渁ll the professors and alumni for their advice and support鈥 and notes, 鈥渨e truly come from an extraordinary college and theatre department.鈥

Tammy Leisen, B.S. 鈥07, was appointed senior vice president of Government Banking on Long Island for Capital One Bank.

Brett Garfinkel, B.F.A. 鈥08, earned an M.F.A. in Dance Performance and Teaching, summa cum laude, from Purchase College in May 2012. He recently performed with the Paris Opera Ballet at Lincoln Center in Giselle. He has been appointed an assistant professor of dance at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana. He is very excited to start his teaching career and begin a new chapter in his life.

Brady O鈥橫alley, B.B.A. 鈥08, is a first-year associate with Smith, Sovick, Kendrick and Sugnet, a litigation firm in Syracuse, New York. He is a magna cum laude graduate of Syracuse University College of Law, and received the International Academy of Trial Lawyers Award, which is given to the best overall advocate in the College鈥檚 graduating class. He also served as business editor of the Syracuse Journal of International Law and Commerce.

Katie Siegmund, B.F.A., 鈥08, is a member of two theatre companies, The Off 8th Collective and Rapidfire Bootleg Theater, both started by fellow Adelphi alumni. The Off 8th Collective was created by Ms. Siegmund and classmate Jennifer Mulligan, B.F.A. 鈥08, with the goal of creating theatre that helps people. Off 8th, which creates work that is socially relevant, brought its marriage equality cabaret, 鈥淕ood Morning Heartache,鈥 to Adelphi in October 2010. Off 8th has begun production on a new work written by Colin Murphy, B.F.A. 鈥09, and Lauren Brickman, B.F.A. 鈥09. The production team also includes Ben Farha, B.F.A. 鈥10, and Chris Bott, B.F.A. 鈥09. The collective has raised money to fight for marriage equality, against human trafficking and for St. Jude鈥檚 Children鈥檚 Research Hospital. Rapidfire Bootleg Theater is the brainchild of Michael DiFrancisco, B.F.A. 鈥09. Since its creation last fall, it has had nine productions. Plays, cabarets and new works have been performed in backyards and living rooms. Audiences have been growing, and every production has been an exciting night of theatre. The Rapidfire team includes Mr. DiFrancisco, Mr. Murphy, Mr. Farha, Samuel Adams, B.F.A. 鈥08, and Ms. Siegmund. Check out the website: .

Cassandra Alvarez, B.A. 鈥09, is currently working for the SS United States Conservancy, a national nonprofit dedicated to saving and restoring the historic ocean liner, SS United States. She helped launch savetheunitedstates.org this past July. The interactive website has been the organization鈥檚 largest fundraising campaign to date.

Joshua Blumenthal, M.A. 鈥09, is the men鈥檚 lacrosse head coach for Regis College in Weston, Massachusetts.

Karen Lange, M.S. 鈥09, was recently honored by the Nassau-Suffolk Hospital Council at the Woodbury Country Club as a nominee for the 2012 Nurse of Excellence Award.

Alex Simmons, B.F.A. 鈥09, has participated in a number of productions in New York鈥檚 Off-Off Broadway scene, including Prom Night of the Living Dead with the Brooklyn Interactive Theater Experience, Giggle Giggle Quack with the Manhattan Children鈥檚 Theatre, a new musical called Sophia at the Richmond Shepard Theatre, and an original play, Age Out, at Theater for the New City. He has also appeared as a gang member in an independent horror film, Echo鈥檚 From the Future: A Harrow House Tale, produced by High 5 Productions. Mr. Simmons has done some work with CollegeHumor, appearing as a featured extra in two of the website鈥檚 online sketches, 鈥淥ccupy Wall Street vs. the iPhone Line鈥 and 鈥淕oogle鈥檚 No Privacy Policy.鈥 He scored his first professional out-of-town gig in Massachusetts, joining the Plymouth Players for their third summer season, performing Shakespeare鈥檚 Hamlet and The Taming of the Shrew in repertory, as part of a company of seven male actors. The Plymouth Players perform at the Plymouth Plantation historical museum.


2010s

Melissa Boo, B.A. 鈥10, is pursuing an M.S. in sustainability management at Columbia University, and working for the Nassau Land Trust to develop Crossroads Farm at Grossmann鈥檚 in Malverne, New York. Jessica Ricco, B.A. 鈥10, M.A. 鈥11, was crowned Miss Long Island 2013 on August 12, 2012.

Anna P. Smith, B.F.A. 鈥10, is living in New York teaching music, modeling and acting on small theatre productions for the last two years. She was part of the ensemble in the New York Shakespeare Festival鈥檚 As You Like It at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park. She also booked the lead in Much Ado About Nothing at the Carolinian Shakespeare Festival in North Carolina.

Kate Fallon, B.F.A. 鈥11, recently toured through 17 states with the Hampstead Stage Company, a children鈥檚 theater company whose main goal is to bring literature and theatre back into the lives of children. She has performed in several shows throughout Manhattan, including a production of Romeo and Juliet that was directed by听Nicole Schalmo, B.F.A. 鈥08. Ms. Fallon has also recorded an audio book with that is currently for sale on . She says: 鈥淚t has been a very busy year since graduation from Adelphi, but I can only hope that another busy year awaits me. Nick Petron, Brian Rose and Maggie Lally did their very utmost to make sure that I was prepared for the hard knocks of the 鈥榬eal world,鈥 and I want to honor their hard work with equal dedication.鈥

Marlee Koenigsberg, B.F.A. 鈥11, was a marketing and communications intern at the Lark Play Development Center in New York City last summer. She has been a directing apprentice at Powerhouse Apprentice Company at Vassar College. She has also served as the assistant director of a multimedia opera at The Kitchen in New York City, called Song from the Uproar. She began work with director Kim Weild on an original piece investigating deaf culture, and what it means to communicate. She joined Gia Forakis & Company (GF&Co.), a theatre company in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, as the associate producing director for the 2012 salon season and worked as the stage manager for two GF&Co. salon showings, Medea and Antigone, in Spring 2012.

Sean Replogle, B.B.A 鈥11, is the newest member of Flynn Zito Capital Management, LLC, based in Garden City, New York.

Matthew Sagistano, B.S. 鈥11, is the assistant lacrosse coach/offensive coordinator at Regis College in Weston, Massachusetts.
