With the increasing emphasis on innovation in organizations, researchers are beginning to explore new ways for thinking about innovation. The 天美传媒 is proud to host two professors from M盲lardalen University, Eskilstuna, Sweden who will lead a seminar on 鈥淓mergent Innovation Through University/Industry Collaboration,鈥 to take place on October 17, 2012, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. in the Ruth S. Harley University Center room 212, 1 South Avenue, Garden City, NY. Tomas Backstrom is a professor of Innovation and Product Realization (IPR) and research leader. Erik Lindhult is a professor of Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship (IPR). Emergent innovation is increasingly recognized as a critical driver of success in complex markets. It involves seeking out, recognizing and promoting innovative activities already at work in the organization.

University/Industry research听collaboration is a globally growing trend in business education.听In this seminar, Professors Tomas Backstrom and Erik Lindhult will discuss听what they learned while they听pursued ground-breaking research听through collaborative relationships with global market leaders including Ericsson and global technology group ABB. Both of these scholars are pioneers in this area and have agreed to share听their successes and setbacks. They worked to听establish and nurture long term听relationships with industry leaders while furthering their own scholarly research agendas.
