For 12 hours鈥攆rom 6:00 p.m. on Friday, April 8, 2106 until 6:00 a.m the next day鈥攎ore than 650 天美传媒 students, faculty and staff packed into the Center for Recreation and Sports for Adelphi鈥檚 fifth annual fundraiser to benefit the American Cancer Society. The event raised more than $68,000 for cancer research and cancer patients.

Teams of participants walked on Adelphi鈥檚 indoor track to show their solidarity with survivors and those lost to cancer. Those attending were treated to student performers and lively events throughout the night.听

News Channel 12 and FiOS 1 Long Island were on hand to cover the event.

“It’s a wonderful way to听bring a community听together, to know what听cancer is and does, and听what cancer can’t do,鈥� Debra Evans, senior associate director of student financial services at Adelphi and a cancer survivor, told News Channel 12.
