ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½'s second annual Spirit Weekend has a first: the inauguralÌýFall Frenzy concert.
Lauren Purcaro, associate director of the Center for Student Involvement, said the Student Activities Board (SAB) decided to host a fall concert based on the popularity of each year’s Spring Concert, also hosted by SAB.
SAB took a different approach for Fall Frenzy, she said, explaining, “The Spring Concert usually features a mainstream, big-name artist. We wanted to go for a different vibe by featuring different genres.”
SAB members referenced past student surveys to see what types of acts and performers students had suggested and decided to book three artists representing three different genres:
- Country musicianÌý
- Pop singerÌý
- Urban artistÌý
“SAB is so excited to kick off Spirit Weekend with this exciting event!” said Purcaro. Fall Frenzy will take place on Thursday, October 11, 2018, in the Thomas Dixon Lovely Ballroom in the Ruth S. Harley University Center. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. and the concert begins at 7:00 p.m.
Although the concert was created with undergraduate students in mind, graduate students and alumni are welcome.ÌýÌýare $10 and advance registration is required.
