Dr. Tompary will explore how episodic memory retrieval integrates event-specific details with prior knowledge. Using transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), she demonstrates how disrupting the anterior temporal lobe reduces memory distortions, highlighting how hippocampal and cortical regions independently support memory fidelity and semantic influence.
